Google Play Testers: Hire Android Beta Testers (12 Needed)

Real testers for your Google Play closed test: publish a capped campaign (12 testers, 14 days) with session rules and measurable in-app events before you request production access.

Who should hire

• Indie or mid-size studios that need to cover a closed-testing quota or validate a soft launch without a permanent QA team.
• Publishers with frequent releases who want the same ops (cap, sessions, events) on every build — not an improvised process per release.
• Game teams measuring tutorial, economy or retention with named events, not only qualitative comments.
• Not the best fit if you only need a moderated UX report or already have an active community covering the quota for free without formal tracking — see DIY vs marketplace.

Google Play tracks

Tester Marketplace does not replace Play Console setup. It fits when you already decide (or are asked) to work on a specific track:

• Internal testing — fast deploy for your team or a tiny circle; useful in CI/CD, less typical as a marketplace campaign.
• Closed testing — the most common use case: email list or join link, controlled quota, pre-production builds. Details in closed testing Google Play.
• Open testing — more volume; the marketplace helps enforce measurable rules even when the track is easier to join.

You keep the list / invites in Play; we coordinate assignments, telemetry and payouts conditioned on compliance.

SDK telemetry

For a campaign to be measurable, the build testers install must report session start/end and named events to the campaign endpoint. Without that instrumentation you only get presence on the Play list — the same problem as DIY. Integration is your technical responsibility; Tester Marketplace verifies that events arrive, meet thresholds and are not anomalous.

Typical events: session_start, session_end, tutorial_complete, match_played. You choose names; the campaign marks which are required.

Antifraud

• Session rules — minimum duration and sessions per day; penalises ghost installs.
• Named events — prove milestones, not only foreground time.
• Compliance scoring per assignment, with review before payouts.
• Optional Play Integrity — device / environment attestation on high-trust campaigns. Guide: Play Integrity Android.

Typical campaign example

A common pattern to cover a closed-testing quota:

• Cap of 12 testers — aligned with a typical controlled-track requirement (adjust to whatever Play Console asks).
• 7 days active window.
• 2 sessions per day, each with a minimum duration (e.g. 10–15 minutes) and at least one progress event.

Orientatively that fits the Play Quota ~€99 package. If you also require several retention or economy events, step up to Quality + events. See pricing and the pilot case study.

Three-step flow

• Register as a publisher and connect Play Console access when needed.
• Create the campaign: cap, duration, pay and measurable rules; top up the wallet if required.
• Align invites with your track (internal, closed or open) and review compliance before payouts.

What it is (and isn't)

Strong fit for Play quotas, soft launch and flow validation with telemetry. It does not replace moderated UX interviews or off-platform qualitative reports. It also does not replace official Google Play policies.

FAQ

• How do I hire Android beta testers on Tester Marketplace? Register as a publisher, create a campaign with a tester cap, days and rules (sessions and events), top up your wallet if needed, and invite testers aligned with your Play Console track.
• Does this cover Google Play closed-testing quotas? Yes — a common use case. You also get measurable sessions and events, not only names on a list. Always check official Play Console docs for the current requirement.
• How much does it cost to hire beta testers? Guidance: Play Quota ~€99 and Quality + events ~€200 per campaign. Exact price is set by each publisher. See pricing.
• Do I need to integrate a telemetry SDK? Yes — to measure sessions and in-app events, the build testers install must report to the campaign endpoint. Without telemetry you only get presence on the Play list, not usage evidence.
• How do campaigns reduce fraud? With session rules, named events, per-assignment compliance scoring and optional Play Integrity. Payouts release after antifraud signals are reviewed — not merely for being invited.
• Can I recruit beta testers for an internal or B2B Android app? Yes. Internal testers and B2B testers work the same way as any campaign: set the cap, session rules and named events, then invite people who already have the app's Play Console access instead of relying on the open marketplace pool. It fits enterprise or internal-only builds that still need measurable usage evidence, not just a headcount.
