How Much Does It Cost to Cover Google Play's 12 Testers?
Updated:
Covering Google Play's requirement (12 testers opted in for 14 continuous days) usually costs at most a few hundred euros. Here is the order of magnitude, what drives it and what it does not include, with no made-up quotes.
The order of magnitude
On Tester Marketplace the price is set by each publisher when creating the campaign: there is no fixed per-tester rate. As an indicative reference (not a quote), a quota campaign for closed testing runs around €99 for 12-14 testers, with 7 days of use and 2 sessions a day of 10-15 minutes.
A stricter second pass (measurable tutorial events and retention) runs around €200. Play Integrity is optional and adds cost depending on the campaign.
What drives the price
- Number of testers (the quota you need).
- Campaign length and minimum sessions per day.
- Whether you require specific in-app events.
- Whether you enable Play Integrity to verify device and app.
How funds are reserved and paid
When you activate the campaign the full price is reserved from your publisher wallet. Testers are paid when they meet the rules after verification, not for being invited. If you cancel an active campaign, unspent money (after tester payouts and the platform fee) returns to your wallet.
There is no mandatory monthly subscription: the model is per campaign.
Alternatives and when they make sense
- Tester-exchange communities: nearly free, but you pay with time and get no measured usage.
- Individual freelancers: often $20-60 per person with no measurable usage guarantee.
- QA agency: built for qualitative reports and scales by the hour.
What is not included
- We cannot guarantee Google will grant production access: we provide real testers, measurable usage and data for the form.
- SDK integration in your app is on you.
- Moderated UX reports or qualitative interviews.
